Maingear have been busy working their way into the mobile gaming consumer market, just recently releasing a number of gaming laptops and shortly after offering another two to the collection, the Alt-15 and Alt-17 gaming laptops.

The company aims to provide gaming laptops at various prices and performances, these two new additions aim to provide a solution for the mid-range gamer, not expecting ‘ultra’ graphics but offering a good power for money ratio.

Both of these new laptops will be powered by an Intel Core processor, with the user’s choice being as to i5 or i7 mobile processors. You can also expect Nvidia’s GeForce GT 425M graphics processors with Optimus technology at the core of these two laptops, although they are not the most powerful solutions available, they again offer a commendable amount of performance for the price paid.

These are far from revolutionary laptops, offering similar specifications as others in its class at a price you would expect. With the option of up to 8GB of DDR3 RAM, Blu-ray and HDD or SSD drives. You can also expect a standard range of connectivity including USB 3.0, HDMI, VGA and LAN. As for pricing, the smaller Alt-15 with a 15” display starts at around $1049 whereas the slightly larger Alt-17 with a 17” display comes in at just $50 dollars more but of course offers more options when it comes to the customisation.
